School Meals / Milk / Fruit
School Meals
These are prepared on the school premises and there is a choice of menu.
The current cost is £1.55 per day and it would be helpful if parents sent dinner money to school on Mondays. Money can be accepted on other days, although this causes inconvenience.
We operate on a self-service basis.
Please note, that for safety reasons we do not allow any pupil to go out of school at lunchtime in order to buy their lunch. The pupils have three options only :-
1) going home for lunch
2) having a school lunch
3) bringing a packed lunch to school
Pupils bringing packed lunches from home usually eat these in the dining hall.
Parents receiving Income Support or Jobseekers Allowance are entitled to free meals for their children. Application forms are available from the school or the local Divisional Education Office.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milk
Milk is available to Nursery children. Children in Primary classes may also have free milk if their parents are in receipt of Income Support or Jobseekers Allowance. Otherwise, children will be asked to bring in money for milk on certain specified dates. These will be notified by letter at the start of the session.
N.B. Neither school meals nor school milk can be paid for retrospectively.
Fruit
pupils in Primary 1 and Primary 2 receive fresh fruit free of charge at break time each day. Pupils in Primary 3 - Primary 7 can buy fruit at break time for the cost of 10p. This is an ideal opportunity to encourage your child to eat a healthy snack.
